Two Notable NJ Construction Projects Reaching Completion

One notable construction project in Bergen County is the development on 764 New Bridge Road . It’s the location of a construction project at the busy intersection of River Road and New Bridge Road in Teaneck. Many residents in the area, including those who live in New Milford, have seen it, but there’s still some uncertainty on what exactly is happening at the site.

The area was once the location of a repair shop called Teaneck Tractor, but the business was demolished three years ago. Now, the new building under construction is called The River Commons.

This project has an estimated cost of over $6 million. The River Commons’s contractor received the footing & foundation permit over a year ago, yet it only allows for the actual building of the structure. Electrical work and other services like plumbing require separate permits.

Read Real Associates is currently listed as the project’s contractor. The local real estate agency has an office in Englewood.

Upon completion of the development, the building is expected to house both people & businesses. There’s a total of 19 residential units, two of which are affordable housing. The ground floor is built to accommodate five retail businesses and provide over 70 parking spaces. The two stories above are where the luxury apartments for tenants is.

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic and the former state restriction on nonessential projects, the multi-family property is expected to finish sometime next year.

New York City is known across the world for having some of the tallest skyscrapers in the United States. Even so, New Jersey is just a few miles over and experiencing a wave of construction projects, one of which includes the development of the state’s tallest building.

The skyscraper on 99 Hudson St. is located a block from the Hudson River Waterfront in Jersey City. It now holds the record as New Jersey’s tallest building. The condominium reaches a whopping 889 feet tall. It’s over 100 feet taller than the former record holder, the Goldman Sachs building, which sits just two blocks away. The project is also the state’s only entry on the list for the 100 tallest buildings in the country

The building includes 781residential units and names China Overseas America as the developer. The condominium’s luxury residencies, view, downtown location, and other amenities attracted 21 contracts in January alone. There’s also a fitness center, game room, club room, swimming pool, spa, and many other services available for tenants.

The units range with studios at $550,000 to penthouses that go for $4 million. The condominium on 99 Hudson Street was expected to reach completion in late 2019 but is now projected to finish later this spring.
