ATLANTA'S DOWNTOWN CNN CENTER is UP FOR SALE

One of Atlanta’s biggest tourist attractions, the CNN Center in downtown, is going up for sale. According to Fulton county, this cultural landmark along with the hotel and retail complex is valued at more than $215 million.

The chief financial officer, Pascal Desroches, from Warner media wrote a memo to the employees saying, “We recognize the historical relevance of the CNN center.”

CNN has occupied the downtown space since 1987 and after 33 years the decision to sell the center has been made. The good news is this landmark will remain for at least five years as they lease the property.

It has also been said that the company is prioritizing their other location, Techwood, and that the entire process of removing the downtown center and continuing to build Techwood will take several years and that the employees don’t expect immediate changes.

No matter when it happens, the memory of the CNN center in downtown Atlanta will remain.
