Houston Update: Lincoln Lumber, Fitzroy Residences, 6 Houston Center, and a job opportunity

Josh: Hello, welcome to this edition of weekly update. My name is  Joshua Vita and CB TV journalist for Houston TX. This week we have Conroe based Lincoln Lumber expands facility as well as a job opportunity. With them, new plans for a condo hotel project in Midtown Houston and 6 Houston Center plan for building in downtown Houston.

The 6 Houston Center will be comprised of 30 stories and 603,629 square feet. It is located at 1222 Rusk Street.   HKS Architects designed the building and the building is to represent the new evolution in commercial office space. It is pre- certified with a LEED gold certification. The office space offers 10-foot ceiling heights and 12-foot ceiling heights on upper levels. Amenities include a rooftop garden and conference center. A 15-foot-tall glass skybridge will connect 6 Houston center to the 1 Houston center. This project is currently still in it planning phase.

The condo-hotel will be called Fitzroy Residences. It has 191-units of condominiums and 200-key Kimpton Hotels & restaurants on the lower floors. Amenities include pool deck, BBQs, pet park, fitness center, and coworking spaces The building is 32 stories high and is breaking ground mid 2021. The estimated completion is late 2023. The architects for the building are Caydon AD&D as wells as Preston Partnership

Conroe based Lincoln Lumber expands it facility to a new location in Crockett, Texas. The facility will concentrate on producing one-inch boards. The reason for the expansion is to meet the growing demand for lumber.   Lincoln also purchased adjoining 7 acres for the 1x4 and 1x6 lumber production. Houston- based construction company KDW will add lay down yards and several auxiliary buildings at the 12-acre site. The new sawmill will be able to produce 28 million board feet annually of the 1x4 and 1x6. The sawmill is expected completion by the third quarter of 2021. Lincoln Lumber is currently hiring and I will put the link down in the description for those interested .
